The Campbell River Storm Junior Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Cyra, has committed to the Vikes for the 2016-17 season.

Harry Schamhart, UVic General Manager and Head Coach, is happy to add another Storm player to the lineup, “Campbell River has been very successful in the last couple of years; when players gain that type of experience and leadership, they bring that with them.”

Storm General Manager/Head Coach, Lee Stone, recalled Cyra’s impact on the organization, “Braeden joined the Storm and instantly impressed fans by scoring a hat trick in his first game. Braeden was voted our team’s fan favourite in large part because of his blazing speed and ability to beat a goalie from anywhere. Braeden was an important member of the Storm’s defensive core and demonstrated he is a team player through his strong leadership.

In addition to being voted fan favourite, Cyra, packed a lot in his final Junior hockey season with the Storm. He was awarded a Storm scholarship, scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal and medalled at the Cyclone Taylor Cup. The versatile player, who was equally comfortable up front or on the back line, picked up 41 points in 32 games wearing the Black and Red.
